Pauline Madden Home Sandra Dyer

Pauline Madden started drumming in 1990 under the tutelage of South African Master Drummer Thebe Lipere. Since then she has studied with many other drumming teachers including Henry Gaobi (Ivory Coast) and Nii Tagoe (Ghana) as well as learning traditional music in Burkina Faso and Ghana.  For seven years, Pauline was one of the drummers in Moropa and Frititi, the performing groups of Thebe Lipere and Nii Tagoe.  Pauline also completed the highly regarded "Roots of Cuba" course  which encompassed a wide variety of both folkloric, traditional and contemporary styles and instruments of  Afro-Cuban rhythm  with Ravin 'Raz' Jayasuriya

Sandra Dyer is a professional and highly experienced workshop facilitator. Over the last 12 years as co director of Drumhead she has gained an outstanding reputation for her educational and community work, delivering fun, exciting rhythm based music workshops combining drumming, percussion, singing, movement and laugher.


The high-energy, inclusive nature of her workshops has been extremely popular in primary, secondary and special needs schools resulting in a high level of repeat bookings alongside numerous long term residency contracts.
